So apparently Merry, Pippin, Galadriel, Eowyn, Arwen, Legolas, and Gimli are considered "unsung heroes" in a new LotR book .
Has this person noticed how much screentime Legolas gets even when the guy is just staring blankly off into space? Or that Galadriel and Arwen are played by really really famous actresses? Or that Merry and Pippin have tons of squealing fangirls after them even if they can't tell the two apart?
"Why, yes, I have noticed that my book has a market."
Hmph. The real unsung heroes are the technicians, the craftsmen, the extras, etc, but that's true of most movies. So the really real unsung heroes have got to be Ghan-buri-ghan, Tom Bombadil and Glorfindel, aka those poor sods who got cut from the movie and the BBC radio play too. Go unscreened characters! I choose you!
On another note, the book is cleverly priced at $39.95 so you can get free shipping on it from Amazon.
