From Wikipedia:

Giri choco (義理チョコ), literally, "obligation chocolate" in Japanese. Giri choco is chocolate given on Valentine's day to someone whom the giver has no romantic feelings for. This is often given to co-workers, casual acquaintances, etc. This is generally reciprocated on White day.

From my own brain:

Giri giri choco (ぎりぎりチョコ), literally, "just-barely-adequate-got-it-at-the-last-minute-at-the-100-yen-shop chocolate" in Japanese. Giri giri choco is typically given by lamers and people who can't read calendars.

Now we just need a word for the chocolate you buy after Valentine's Day because it's all on sale. And then we need a word for the chocolate you bought on sale after Valentine's Day last year and which you are trying to pass off as fresh stuff.

That said, I had a very nice Valentine's Day, even if it had like almost no chocolate in it. :)

On my way home around ten at night on Valentine's after my horrid evening class, people were still selling roses on the streets! I wonder if anyone really buys flowers at ten at night on the day of. That's almost past giri giri.

Giri giri choco. I like that term. XD

I never had year old chocolate for Valentines. I usually do for Halloween though. I've been good about it this year and finished off the chocolate within...3 months.
