Ah, I've actually not read anything more than Ender' Game, I tried, but at the time the sequels just din't interest me.
Ah, too true. With a most fic I can predict how it will end, with a lot of fic I can even somewhat predict how it will get to that point. I also notice that badfic, and sloppily written fic tend towards predictability more often than goodfic - I guess you can make even a trite cliché interesting with effort and skill. Then again fandom occasionally comes up with pure genius, or pure, pure crack. Which is why I stay hooked. (You wouldn't believe what I'm reading right now (week ago I wouldn't believe what I'm reading now) - then again, maybe you would.)
