Blind_go guessing yadda yadda yadda

So I'm making my way through the fics that were submitted to blind_go, and the going is pretty slow because I don't want to go blind from all the shiny awesomeness I'm reading. Seriously, what were all of you people on? That is some damn fine writing over there.

But trying to guess who wrote what is making my head hurt.

I have a notepad file where I'm recording my guesses and observations, except that not a lot of guessing or observing is going on. It's full of stuff like, "such and such fic uses present tense and AND ROCKS MY WORLD and I kind of think it might be so-and-so blah I dunno who it is." I honestly suck at identifying writing styles, especially at the micro-level. Like looking at commas and spelling and tedious stuff like that. Usually I just go with my gut feeling, especially when I'm too lazy to look closer.

In conclusion, when I win the prize for least number of correct guesses, I can say I told you so.

Also, if you participated in blind_go it is obligatory that you make at least five aftermath posts (five...go...you know). Anyone who doesn't do so will go blind.

Damn, I still haven't made my quota of five aftermath posts. *flails* I'm going to go blind, mother, and I have no Shindou to support me in my blindness!

I'm going blind from the shininess of those brilliant stories anyway, so I guess it's going to be a natural progression. *_*

You've started? I should too, except so many delayed fandom obligations are rearing their heads, all at the same time. >_> Blind_go ate my life! I'm merely hoping I get ONE guess right, and it's annoying how some people keep hinting, "Oh, you're definitely so-and-so, I can tell by your story" and I. Just. Can't. See. Dude, I am probably going to the be the one flailing to make quota. I didn't think people would actually do it. Ah well, I'm supposed to be going blind anyway because I constantly sleep with my hair wet (Chinese supersition, yeeha!).

I had a holiday yesterday so I managed to read more than half the stories, but then my parents called and I had to chat with them for FIVE HOURS so I got stalled. Now I have to go to work again...boo hoo! But at least I don't have any other fandom obligations.

Oh, don't take that superstition seriously; there's a version that says your hair won't grow longer when you do that. (See me squee for Love Mode! Kiichi-sensei love.) It might explain why my vision's not so good though. >_> No, mother, I will be blind for not being superstitious and not posting about the pain of blind_go! *flails*

I've saved them all and now I will be reading them much, much later, in between my protestations of grief for the baduk fic that never came to pass.

I started a list and tried to go through by elimination, but it's not working very well. So far, I haven't figured out anyone's yet! I'll be very sad if I end up not being able to guess any. ;_;

I am so glad I'm not alone in guess-o-phobia-land! All those comments that say, "I totally know who this is nya na na nya na!" are making me feel rather pressured to make at least ONE correct guess.

1. i'm bookmarking blind_go, i'm so excited!
2. ahahaah, you know, um. present tense is basically my factory reset mode. it is freakishly difficult for me to write past tense. and then i read meta where people are like, "i can't read present tense it's just too weird!" and i feel suddenly bad. :(

Isn't blind_go so awesome? It's like the HnG equivalent of those big Harry Potter fandom conventions! (which just goes to show how much our fandom does stuff together) ^_^

I've always been surprised when people say they're weirded out by reading a fic in any tense. The past tense is definitely my factory reset mode, but present is fine too and even less common stuff like second person doesn't bother me. What does bother me, though, is poetry. I can't bloody read poetry. I am a sad, sad English major.
