I signed up for and get your words out last year knowing full well that I probably wouldn’t be able to write for as many days as I signed up for… And kind of gave myself the OK to fail if I needed to. That made it low-key enough that it was fun to try to reach my goal, but not so much pressure that it felt overwhelming.
I also gave myself permission to count *any* amount of creative writing or planning or brainstorming as being enough for that day. The idea was just to have some kind of continuity, so I could actually remember what I was working on and be able to pick it up again without having to reread everything…
Basically, I made gywo work for me and not the other way around. But it’s definitely not for everyone. I’m not working or studying that much right now, so I have the time for it; a couple years ago, I definitely wouldn’t have signed up for this!
