There and back again
Apr. 3rd, 2008 09:57 pmWent to Tokyo for a few days over spring break so I could get out of school for a while. Stayed with
juin for most of the trip and then with
cienna and
ontogenesis for the last night so that we could visit Tsukiji fish market early in the morning. Despite having to get up at 5:30 am for our fish adventures, we stayed up late the night before with
aiwritingfic watching a tragicomic movie about gay Korean clowns.
juin took me to a cake buffet with a couple of her students and we stayed there for SIX HOURS. It was wonderful. I highly recommend eating cake for six hours. It is a not-to-be-missed experience.
Where else did we go? It's all kind of a blur now...karaoke, Phantom of the Opera theme restaurant, imperial palace (by myself), Mirai kan science-y museum in Odaiba, Ai's place for home-cooked lunch (she has way too much energy, seriously), shopping in Shimokitazawa, and that's where we found a pretty good Chinese restaurant chain!!!! It was called Ousho (I think it might have been 王将), and while it wasn't necessarily really authentic, it at least tasted good. The sweet and sour pork there was better than the chewy crap I was served in Yokohama's Chinatown.
I enjoyed.
(I need to send photos to like everyone I know from every event I've ever been to.)
Also!
juin showed me this beautiful, amazing, fantastic thing. SLAM DUNK FANS PAY ATTENTION.
Slam Dunk: 10 Days After, a short epilogue taking place 10 days after the end of Slam Dunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Inoue Takehiko drew it on blackboards in a school!! Isn't that awesome??!! Inoue so obviously loves his work.
How is it I'd never heard of "10 Days After" before?
