How to be a tourist in Japan without walking too much?

My uncle is planning to visit Japan (probably Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and maybe Nara) and he has some trouble walking long distances. Anyone have any advice or know of any reasonably-priced tours that he can go on? My cousin will probably be accompanying him btw.

the double-decker bus tours of major cities are always a good way to get someone with limited mobility and/or time around to see a bunch of sights in a short period of time with little/no walking (and certainly the cheapest tour options). I'm guessing Kyoto's too small for it (at least, I don't recall seeing any when I was in Kyoto, but I wasn't exactly looking out for them) but Tokyo will definitely have them and probably Osaka too.

Checking out the top-rated tours for these cities on tripadvisor is also a good way to get an idea of what's available. I can point you towards those sections of the website if you're not that familiar with tripadivsor.
