Hm, not sure about this one! I love Shohoku's dynamic in general, but I guess if I had to pick it would be Sakuragi and Rukawa's fox-and-monkey relationship. That's not even a thing but whatever, those two make it a thing. Rukawa is HILARIOUS when he ignores/puts down Sakuragi, and when they actually cooperate they are AWESOME.

4. The moment/character/THING/WHATEVER that first hooked me on the fandom.
I was hooked the moment Sakuragi tried to slam dunk and rammed his head against the backboard.

5. One of my favorite moments.
Too many to choose from!
-When Sakuragi slam dunks the ball on Gori's head (I sense a theme here)
-When Mitsui cries and begs to be let back on the team.
-Whenever Mitsui sinks a three pointer despite being half dead.
-Akagi and Uozumi's hug.
-Sakuragi and Rukawa's high five at the end.

6. A song or track that reminds me of this fandom.

Wait, are we talking about the series or the fans? Oops. Well, SD fandom is kind of dead, except you, and you are awesome. :D

I am very sad that doctaj's SD sketches seem to have all disappeared off the net. :( :( :( I bought <a href="http://slampunkz.livejournal.com/>this doujinshi</a> because of him/her. I bought it just because doctaj was involved, even though s/he didn't contribute art to it! S/he is THAT GOOD.

I think I once had some ideas for a Hasegawa fic but it was boring!

Poor Hasegawa. I would need some serious inspiration to write something for him that doesn't suck.

1. My favorite character.
WAYA OF THE HAIR. I like what a good guy he is, how brash he is (except when he's with his sensei), and how he's so interested in other people, almost to the point of being nosy. In a series of mostly self-centered (not in a bad way) go players, he's refreshingly social.

2. ANOTHER favorite character!!
Hikaru! Hikaru Hikaru Hikaru. And Isumi. And Touya. And Sai.

Hikaru's relationship with go *cough cough*. And with Sai. And with Touya. They're all related, like a weird little love triangle with a board game at the center of it. I love the philosophizing and the chasing and the convoluted secrets lol.

4. The moment/character/THING/WHATEVER that first hooked me on the fandom.
I think it was after the children's tournament, when Hikaru says to Touya, "I had never seen that before. There were kids younger than me, yet they were all really serious. It was really great." And Hikaru looks all shy and shining and shows for the first time what he might become. Then Touya says "duh, you've never been serious before?" and gets angry and shows what he already is. It's nothing different from any other sports/game series, that moment of realization, but I love it anyway.

5. One of my favorite moments.
When Hikaru blurts out "Hey, you're Zelda!" to Waya. HA HA HA HA Hikaru you are an idiot. And Waya is an idiot for accepting your explanation.

6. A song or track that reminds me of this fandom.
"Eye of the Tiger"

7. One miscellaneous awesome thing about the fandom.
It's laid-back and unstressful. :)

NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO PLAY GO.

A Proof by Contradiction by petronia. Great use of voice. A love story defined by absences. Sad as hell. And then you read her author's notes and you have to laugh a bit at the Mack truck bit.
