I'm in a Rurouni Kenshin mood tonight. I watched some clips on Youtube in Japanese with French subtitles, and between my knowledge of Japanese and French and my memory of the English subs I totally understood what was going on. In a weird, fractured, illiterate way.

Anyway, I just wanna say that I Lurve RK. Heart of Sword = nostalgia!

I first watched RK on garbly VHS tapes with some rather odd subtitles. Ahh....anime just isn't the same anymore. (ie. it's comprehensible)

*laughing* I had the benefit of subs, but my FIRST experience with Rurouni Kenshin was when they called it Samurai X (and there were no dubs or subtitles).

Ah, did you watch it on AXN or whatever it's called? I caught a bit of Samurai X on that network when I was visiting the Philippines. They seem to show a lot of good stuff.

I did indeed! AXN. They carried that on our satelite TV network (Astro).

I think my favorite is still the Departure background theme! They used it to such powerful effect during the Departure/Kyoto arcs.

Hee, I have mixed feelings about that story. I never feel like I can do RK justice, which is part of the reason I rarely write for it. Thank you for the confidence boost. :)

I never finished RK! *sad* But Heart of Sword! I have the song somewhere...

And I've totally done the same thing some Japanese dramas. Considering how I've never taken a Japanese class at all, I thought it was somewhat impressive. :)

It's not worth watching RK after the Kyoto arc, so if you finished up to there then consider yourself done. :)

It's amazing how much Japanese you can pick up from anime/the internet if you pay enough attention, huh? Too bad I can't seem to pay attention. >_
