I bet you could get pretty far using the insta-haiku method! Some of the haikus that come out are pretty artsy-fartsy.

The whooshing deadlines quote is Douglas Adams, I checked. He's the guy who wrote the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. :)
