I think the performer is from the area and might even have gone to my school, so it's not really a lucky coincidence. But yes, we are lucky to have lots of artsy people around here. :) Though I'm actually not in school right now--I'm currently working at a in a student position in a publishing house, away from town, so I'm going to miss the performances. Bummer.

Glad you've discovered Orson Scott Card! Very open-minded of you to look at the website of an author you don't know--I don't really have the patience for new things nowadays, bad me. But anyway, Card's reviews are great because he is willing to review anything and everything--American Idol, sponges, movies, restaurants, the list goes on. And unlike a lot of authors he doesn't use teh big wurds to make himself sound smart.

On another note, I highly recommend his novel Ender's Game, even if you don't like sci-fi. I'm not much of a sci-fi fan but I LOVED this book. Powerful story and an engaging read.
