Final Fantasy 15 trailer

So the gameplay trailer for FF Versus XIII FFXV (name change!) certainly looks outrageously beautiful.

That in-game graphics are sick.

But I can't shake the feeling that this game is Kingdom Hearts with Cloud and Zack instead of Donald and Goofy, and Sasuke fromNaruto instead of Sora. Dude still has his keyblade though.

The gameplay looks fun, but I'm kind of wondering where the xx chromosomes and people of any shade other than pasty white went. I know there's 2 female faces listed in the still of 12 characters, but this trailer certainly doesn't seem to imply they're part of the core party.

I guess they were trying to appease all the "OMG, this is the SECOND Final Fantasy game you've made with a non-optional female lead... how could you?" fans who are moaning about LR.

It certainly looks like a step backward, doesn't it? I noticed it too.

Even more telling is this trailer. It has a Middle Easternish setting, but the main characters here (the old man who rants in English, and the girl in the red Edea robe) both look white. Well, the girl looks half-Asian and half-white, the way FF characters do.

Meanwhile, most of the bad guys running around in this trailer look Middle Easternish, and they speak something other than English or Japanese (not sure if it's a real language or not).

Are people really complaining about the FFXIII games not having male leads? Really? Have they played Dissidia and seen the male/female ratio?
