Re: You are my chocolate adrenaline

That's so weird that you got here while looking for Saitou/Sano fics! 0_o Er, did you find any good ones that you'd like to share? Me like RK fics. :)

It's been years since I've touched Sailor Moon too, and I mostly only watched the dub, so I can hardly say I have any authority at all on the characters! I'm not surprised Usagi felt a bit off to you--there are definitely moments that feel weird to me as well. Thank you for the criticism, I enjoy that kind of thing. :)

The whole questioning of Crystal Tokyo idea was something I would have never come up with on my own (it's not like the show encourages you to ask questions). The idea is completely stolen from other fanfics. Isn't it a great way of turning Sailor Moon upside down? I wish I could thank whoever thought it up first.

I think that technically the best, most efficient system of government would actually be a benevolent dictatorship a la Crystal Tokyo. But in reality, you can't have such a thing--power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely yada yada yada. And even if you could find an incorruptible (is that a word?) leader, her successors would not necessarily be so benign.

So yes, in a primitive society that's struggling to survive, totalitarianism rocks and democracy is lunacy. Just look at all the resources we waste for our electoral process. -_- If only we had a benevolent dictator! (I'm just being silly now, mostly)

I chose Ami for this role because she's so scarily intelligent but also a total follower--and there are a lot of people who are like that, aren't there? Intelligence doesn't make you a leader, charisma does. And Usagi has lots of charisma (and genuine heart). Raito is scary because he's got BOTH charisma and freakish intelligence, as well as an unhealthy dose of ruthlessness. But at least he's easily identifiable as a dictator, whereas Serenity is not.

Anyway, thank you so much for the long, thoughtful review. I love getting comments like this. You've helped me learn a lot about my own story (when I write I often can't articulate my concepts clearly to myself, I can only express them in a roundabout way through the characters). I feel like this story has good ideas but could use a little polishing. I'll have to edit it one of these days when I'm feeling up to it.

Oh, and I do have one or two more DN fics in the works. :)
