Sydney in August!

I might be in Sydney from August 23-30 this year! With my dad and a couple of middle-aged friends. Any advice on places to stay, things to do? We're thinking of staying at an airBnB to save money.  

Also, I know I have some Australians on my friendslist...anyone going to be in Sydney around that time?

OMG I feel your pain! We've had an oligopoly of three cell phone carrier companies here for a very long time--probably since cell phones became a thing--so I SYMPATHIZE. It's only recently that the government has finally broken up the ring of evil and let in a tiny bit of competition, mainly from the USA, which leaves me with mixed feelings but a smaller cell phone bill! Sadly, it's still the case that temporary plans in most countries are still better than my local, more permanent plan -_- When I was traveling in Britain I was sick with jealousy over how cheap our tourist cell phone plans were.

Anyway thank you for the detailed info!! Will probably go for 6GB of data so we can wander around and figure things out as we go along without planning too much XD
